We can understand why doctors wear face masks as this stops the spread of germs, but why do construction workers wear dust masks? Quite simply the dust mask filters out any dust and chemical particles that may be breathed in thus damaging the lungs  and making them more susceptible to infection, as well as affect breathing. However, incorrect use of the masks may render it ineffective, while this and prolonged exposure may lead to more serious illnesses.  Read more...
